Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has turned down a lucrative offer from Brazilian club Flamengo, worth £8.5m.

Cyber Reporters reports that the 33-year-old’s current contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season, and he has been linked with a move away from the Gunners.

Flamengo had offered Jorginho a three-year deal, but the Italy international is holding out for a higher salary, reportedly close to £12m.

Negotiations between the two parties have stalled, with both sides “far from reaching an agreement.”

Jorginho has also attracted interest from another Brazilian club, Palmeiras, although no formal offer has been made.

Flamengo is considered the leading contender for his signature, but the club will need to revisit their offer if they hope to secure the midfielder’s services.

Since joining Arsenal from Chelsea in 2023, Jorginho has made 70 appearances in all competitions.

However, he has struggled for regular playing time this season under manager Mikel Arteta.

The rejection of Flamengo’s offer leaves Jorginho’s future uncertain, with the midfielder facing an important decision about his next career move.
