President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu offered a total of N5 million in cash awards, with N3 million going to the Dogon Dutse Warriors and N2 million to the runners-up, Tudun Wada Lakers.

The championship, held at Jos’ historic Dogon Dutse Basketball Pitch, sought to promote togetherness, youth development, and community bonding in Plateau State.

Speaking during the event, Seyi Tinubu, represented by Engineer Auwal Ibrahim, expressed his satisfaction with the tournament’s successful hosting and the influence it has had on the local community.

“Plateau State is gradually regaining its former glory as the home of peace and tourism, and this tournament is a testament to the potential of the region.

“We must all continue to work together to sustain this progress. Sports, as we have seen today, are an incredible unifying factor and can help build bridges in our society. This is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda of unifying the nation through sports and youth inclusiveness.”

Tinubu, who  emphasised that the tournament was just one example of how sports could serve as a catalyst for positive change in Nigeria, added  “This event highlights the importance of sports in fostering national unity and youth empowerment.

“We must recognise that sports have the power to bring people together, regardless of their background or beliefs.”
