Ogun Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Raping, Assaulting Neighbor

A man named Michael Akinmolayan has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping a female neighbor in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

Cyber Reporters gathered that the arrest was made after the victim’s brother, Ogundimu, reported the crime to the police.

According to Omolola Odutola, the state command’s spokesperson, Ogundimu resides in Mushin, Lagos State, and was informed by neighbors in Sango-Ota that his sister had been seriously injured by Akinmolayan.

The police swiftly responded to the report and took Akinmolayan into custody.

The suspect allegedly inflicted severe head injuries on the survivor using a grinding stone, necessitating immediate hospitalization for medical attention.

The police have recovered evidence, including blood-stained clothing and the grinding stone used in the attack.

Ogundimu stated that an investigation is currently underway, and the police are working to gather more evidence and build a case against the suspect.

The Ogun State Police Command is committed to ensuring that justice is served in this matter.

The statement read: “On November 28, the survivor’s brother, Ogundimu, who resides in Mushin, Lagos State, reported the crime. He was informed by neighbours in Sango-Ota that his sister had been seriously injured by Akinmolayan.

“The suspect inflicted head injuries during the assault. Detectives visited the scene, took photographs, and transported the survivor to Banuso Clinic, Ota, for medical treatment.

“Evidence, including blood-stained clothing and the grinding stone allegedly used in the attack, was recovered. A preliminary investigation is underway.”
