President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to France has yielded significant results, with the signing of two major trade agreements worth €300 million with President Emmanuel Macron.

Cyber Reporters understands that these agreements are aimed at boosting Nigeria’s critical infrastructure development, food security, and other vital sectors.

The deals were signed at an economic forum held at the Palais des Elysée in Paris, attended by top officials, businessmen, and industry leaders from both countries.

Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, signed the Letter of Intent, marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to attract foreign investment and stimulate economic growth.

The agreements outline a comprehensive framework for cooperation between Nigeria and France, covering key areas such as investment, infrastructure development, healthcare, transportation, agricultural value chains, renewable energy, and human capital development.

The two countries have committed to working together to remove fiscal barriers, protect labor rights, and enhance mutual trade and cross-border services.

Furthermore, the French Development Agency, AFD, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s socio-economic growth through financing sustainable projects in urban infrastructure development, transportation networks, housing infrastructure, human capital development, agriculture, food security, and healthcare.

The AFD has also pledged to support the Renewed Hope Agenda reforms, designed to stimulate and strengthen the economy.
