Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Mr Wale Ajetunmobi.

This was revealed in a statement released on Tuesday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.

The announcement read, ‘Governor Sanwo-Olu suspends aide.’ Ajetunmobi’s suspension “follows the misrepresentation of facts on his personal X account on a previous incident,” according to the statement.

Akosile stated that the Sanwo-Olu government “frowns at any form of extrajudicial punishment and will not participate in any such action.” That’s not who we are. That’s not our way.”

PUNCH Online checked Ajetunmobi’s X account, #Riddwane, on Tuesday and found no such tweet because it had been deleted.

On Sunday, November 24, 2024, Premium Times reported a tweet by Ajetunmobi, tweeting as #Riddwane, in which he disclosed that the arsonists who burned down the Television Continental station in Lagos during the heat of the 2020 #EndSARS demonstration had been “hunted down and executed.”

The suspended assistant further alleged that one of the “executed” arsonists was a young child (name unknown) who traded cooking gas in the Ketu area of the state.

Ajetunmobi claimed the youngster was found holding an AK-47 gun.

The tweet read, “The full narrative of those who burned down TVC in 2020 will be told one day, complete with horrific video and photographs. One thing to keep in mind is that the vast majority of them were apprehended and executed.

“One of them, a young lad trading cooking gas near Ketu, was discovered with an AK-47 at the scene. Even his neighbours were astounded. But the entire gist is best preserved for later.”
