Senator Solomon Adeola of the Ogun West Senatorial District has launched the 2024/2025 YAYI Scholarship Scheme for Ogun state students attending public tertiary institutions in Nigeria, Cyber Reporters report.

The Senator Adeola Scholarship Scheme’s Board, chaired by Chairman Professor Tope Popoola, raised the official flag in Ilaro, the headquarters of the Ogun West Senatorial District.

Prof Popoola revealed that Senator Adeola has expanded the number of beneficiaries from the initial 1,500 awarded in the 2023/24 exercise to about 5,000 in the newly released 2024/25 edition, with opportunities offered to Ogun State students across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.

He cautioned candidates to avoid repeated registration as it may result in disqualification, and stated that the website will be active until December 20, 2024, with the scholarship and bursary ceremony taking place early in 2025.

In his remarks, the Board Secretary, Chief Dapo Oke, emphasized that the process is free and that no student should pay money to anyone or any group of individuals to benefit from the scheme, recommending candidates to visit the authorized website: yayischolarshipprogram.com.ng to fill out the needed form.

Also, according to Prince Femi Dokunmu of the YAYI Scholarship Board, goodwill messages were offered by many stakeholders at the occasion, including Royal Fathers, Baales, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leadership and many dignitaries.

Other guests at the Flag-Off include the APC Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Azeez Muhammed; Engr. Yinka Akintomide; Chief Samuel Ayedogbon; Aare Hon. Waliu Taiwo; Chief Kunle Ajibose; Chief Atinsola Amore; Olori Adebisi Olaotan, representative of the Iyaloja General of Ogun State; Council of Baales from the five Local Governments in Ogun West; Members of the Yayi Scholarship Board and Students’ Union Leaders from various Institutions.
