The Super Eagles began training on Saturday for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda, but Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman was noticeably absent due to an injury.
Cyber Reporters gathered that Lookman picked up a knock during Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Benin Republic and was substituted for Frank Onyeka late in the game.
The extent of Lookman’s injury will be assessed during Sunday’s final training session, determining his availability for Monday’s match against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina has been released from camp due to an injury sustained in the same game, while goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has left to mourn the loss of his father.
The Super Eagles face Rwanda on Monday in their final Group C match, seeking to solidify their position in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
