The body of Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has arrived at the Nigerian Air Force wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where soldiers from the Guards Brigade are paying their final respects.

The arrival was precisely at 9 a.m., marking the beginning of the final journey of a committed leader who made significant strides in military operations and soldier welfare.

The late General will be flown to Abuja today as part of the burial arrangements, where official observances and private funeral rites will precede his final interment.

Cyber Reporters gathered that before the flight, a brief, solemn ceremony will be held at the airport to honor his legacy.

Lagbaja is remembered as a dedicated leader who worked tirelessly for Nigeria’s peace and unity.

President Bola Tinubu described him as a “true patriot” in a statement, echoing the sentiments of military personnel, public officials, and citizens who have poured in tributes from across Nigeria.
