Glenn Hoddle, former England and Tottenham manager, has expressed concerns that Christopher Nkunku may consider leaving Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for £52million but has struggled with injuries, limiting him to just 26 appearances.

Despite scoring in Chelsea’s 4-1 Conference League win over Panathinaikos, Nkunku’s fitness issues persist.

Hoddle believes Nkunku’s frustration may grow if his playing time and form do not improve.

“The injuries are obviously affecting him, and he knows he’s not at his best yet,” Hoddle said.

Comparing Nkunku to teammate Nicolas Jackson, Hoddle noted, “Nkunku would be more clinical if given the same opportunities.”

However, with Jackson gaining confidence and the manager’s trust, Hoddle doubts Nkunku’s contentment. “Nkunku might think he needs to leave in January if this continues,” Hoddle warned.

Chelsea’s attacking lineup has been plagued by injuries, but Hoddle’s comments highlight Nkunku’s specific challenges.

As the January transfer window approaches, Nkunku’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain.

Hoddle’s assessment echoe concerns among Chelsea fans, who eagerly await Nkunku’s return to full fitness and form.

With Nkunku’s situation unfolding, Chelsea’s management will face crucial decisions regarding their talented but injury-prone forward.
