Kelechi Iheanacho’s spell at Sevilla has been marked by limited playing time, with just five league appearances since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer.

However, manager Jorge Garcia Pimienta has assured the Nigerian forward that he will get more opportunities in subsequent games.

Pimienta recently expressed his satisfaction with Iheanacho’s progress, highlighting his impressive training sessions.

Despite being an unused substitute in Sevilla’s last two games against Real Betis and Barcelona, Pimienta believes Iheanacho deserves more minutes on the pitch.

“I’m happy with Iheanacho’s performance,” Pimienta said in a post-match conference. “He was close to coming on against Real Betis and Barcelona, but Suso’s injury changed our plans.”

This statement suggests that Iheanacho’s lack of playing time is not due to poor form, but rather unforeseen circumstances.

Sevilla’s attacking lineup has been plagued by injuries, affecting Iheanacho’s chances of starting. However, Pimienta’s assurance provides hope for the Nigerian international.

With Suso’s injury recovery underway, Iheanacho may find himself back in contention.

Iheanacho’s move to Sevilla was seen as an opportunity to revive his stagnating career. Despite his impressive goal-scoring record at Leicester City, the 27-year-old sought new challenges.

Sevilla, a six-time UEFA Europa League winner, offered the perfect platform. As Sevilla prepares to face Espanyol in LaLiga on Friday, Iheanacho may finally get his chance.

Pimienta’s promise, combined with Iheanacho’s hard work, could lead to increased playing time.

Fans and pundits alike will watch with interest as Iheanacho seeks to establish himself in Sevilla’s starting lineup.

With 28 goals in 127 appearances for Leicester City, Iheanacho has proven his goal-scoring prowess.
