Inter Milan captain, Lautaro Martinez has shared his thoughts on Lionel Messi’s recent endorsement for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

Cyber Reporters reports that Messi, Inter Miami’s captain and Martinez’s Argentina teammate, publicly stated that Martinez deserved the award.

Messi praised Martinez, citing his impressive performance as the top scorer in the Copa America.

However, Martinez revealed that he and Messi had not discussed the award.

In an interview, Martinez expressed gratitude for Messi’s support.

“We didn’t talk about this award. I was just pleased he was back with us in the Argentina squad,” Martinez said.

Martinez emphasized his focus on team success, while acknowledging the significance of individual recognition.

“I always work hard to help the team, but individual awards mean a lot too, as they show you are working well,” he added.

He credited his teammates, staff, and fans for any potential individual success.

“We are a great team, everyone works in their own way to raise the bar.”

Martinez’s humble response highlights his commitment to team goals, while appreciating Messi’s vote of confidence.
